General Dentistry
University Dental Associates provides a variety of comprehensive dental services for adults and children. These services include:
- Routine examinations, x-rays and cleanings
- Periodontal scaling and root planing
- Restorations (fillings)
- Endodontic therapy (root canals)
- Crowns (caps), bridges and dentures
- Night guards to prevent tooth grinding and mouth guards for sports
- Esthetic dentistry services for enhancing the appearance of your teeth, such as bleaching, bonding and veneers
Specialty Services
All of our practices provide dental services to patients with routine dental needs. In addition, our Winston-Salem offices provide services to patients with:
- Challenges in behavior
- Chronic illness
- Disabilities
- Leukemia
- Hemophilia
- Head and neck cancer
- Craniofacial abnormalities, such as cleft palate
Sleep positioning appliances are constructed for referred patients to assist with breathing problems, such as snoring and mild sleep apnea. Our specialty services and affiliation with Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center allow us to provide a team approach for dental treatment.
Periodontics
Periodontal (gum tissue) services include:
- Comprehensive, detailed evaluation of the patient’s present condition
- Reduction or elimination of risk factors
- Treatments to enhance the patient’s ability to maintain healthy gums
- Oral hygiene instruction and several types of cleanings
- Other treatments to help the patient eliminate gum disease and achieve good oral health
- Referrals to a periodontist as clinically indicated
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
We provide oral and maxillofacial surgery services in our Winston-Salem offices, which include:
- Extractions, bony surgery and splinting
- Emergency service for trauma-related injuries
- Referrals by the general dentist as clinically indicated
Dental Implants
Dental implant services are available for the surgical placement and restoration of implants. Referrals are made by the general dentist as clinically indicated. Please consult with the UDA practice of your choice to determine what is available.
