Biography
Dr. Peter Pryor Jr. was born and raised on a small farm outside Lexington, Kentucky. He completed his undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Psychology at Wake Forest University, in Winston-Salem, NC. Following his graduation, he briefly resided on St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands and worked as a dental assistant. This life experience largely contributed to Dr. Pryor’s decision to pursue a career in dental medicine. Dr. Pryor graduated from The University of Louisville School of Dentistry, in 2015, and served as an extern within the Seneca National Health System, in Irving, NY, prior to this graduation. He subsequently completed a two-year general practice dental residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Through this residency program, he developed a wide breadth of knowledge concerning dental medicine in both hospital and private practice settings with a focus on severely medically compromised patients, orofacial trauma and infection, surgery (including implants), pediatrics, IV conscious sedation and special needs. After completing his residency program, Dr. Pryor moved to Alabama, where he worked in private practice, with an underserved community. Dr. Pryor is excited to be back in North Carolina, in an area he loves. Dr. Pryor is a member of the ADA, North Carolina Dental Society, and Seattle Study Club. He has undergone additional training at the Dawson Academy and Practical Dental Learning Center for implants. Dr. Pryor sees Dentistry as an opportunity for lifelong learning. In his spare time, Dr. Pryor enjoys the outdoors, playing guitar, and traveling. Patients and co-workers value Dr. Pryor’s exceptional attention to detail, conscientious attitude, and kind, gentle demeanor.
